In August, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) released a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) to update the rules that govern the evaluation and approval of radiofrequency (RF) devices.
On October 2nd, CompTIA submitted comments addressing:
1) ways to more effectively streamline the FCC Form 740 import declarations;
2) changes to certified equipment requirements;
3) modification of the customs bonded warehouse requirement;
4) increasing the number of trade show devices allowed for importation;
5) raising the allowable number of devices imported for personal use;
6) supporting the FCC proposal to modify § 2.1204(a)(1) on the allowance of importation prior to the issuance of a grant of certification, but to also make a similar modification to also §2.803(a)(
